I have a horse shoe-pattern of hair and am a 7 on the Norwood Scale. I don’t expect to have a full head of hair with a transplant, but what can I realistically expect to be achieved?
This is a very good question. With your hair loss pattern, the goal of hair transplantation is to create the appearance of not looking bald. This can be achieved by focusing first on the anterior portion of the scalp in the midline known as the forelock region. Once this area is grafted and the hair is allowed to grow long enough to be combed backward, good coverage can be expected without the perception of being bald. A second session of hair grafting can focus on other areas which can help provide even greater coverage.
