Why does it take a whole year before you see the results of your rhinoplasty?
Most surgeons will quote a full year because edema, aka swelling, can be present to a slight degree for that length of time. The most swelling occurs over the first two weeks and then begins to subside over the remaining 6 to 12 months. Most noticeable swelling is gone by approximately 6-8 weeks. The nasal tip is the most common area for swelling to be present the longest.
