Can the scar tissue on my nose tip be fixed?

Question: I’ve had two previous rhinoplasties and now have a great deal of scar tissue on my nose tip. Can this be fixed? Would steroid injections help or is surgery necessary?

Answer: Scar tissue following surgery, including rhinoplasty, is normal, but there are treatments if it becomes excessive. The specific treatment will depend on timing and the location of the scar tissue. Sometimes steroid injections can be used to reduce and/or soften scar tissue. This would best be evaluated by an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon, who would also be able to determine whether surgery would be necessary to remove the scar tissue and correct any associated deformity.
