Will the scar tissue from my first nose job affect my second procedure?

Question: I have chosen to undergo rhinoplasty for the second time in ten years. Does the scar tissue from the first nose job affect this second procedure?

Answer: Scar tissue is formed following any surgical procedure and does affect subsequent surgeries in that area.  Secondary (revision) rhinoplasty is particularly challenging due to scar tissue from prior surgery.  If considering a second rhinoplasty, it is important to consult with a plastic surgeon who is experienced in this type of procedure and to be clear about aesthetic goals
